Sometimes..

Sometimes you meet someone; you just forget your own preferences and you feel like her likings are really unadulterated. You wish you could have tried her choice of things. You think like why you didn’t meet her before. She may not be perfect, but for you, her flaws beautify her elegance at that moment. Then your heart must have the most beautiful feeling of the world for her-LOVE. May be, or most probably it is one-sided. But your heart will bless her for giving you such a placid and innocuous pleasure. 🙂

Writing

Writing quotes-

You can make anything by writing.

The role of a writer is not to say what others can all say, but what others are unable to say.

You always get more respect when you don’t have a happy ending.

There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stop the story.

Writing is the only profession where no one considers you ridiculous if you earn no money.

I have made this letter longer, because I have not had the time to make it shorter. Blaise Pascal

Vandalism is not a way to protest.

I fail to understand how few people show their anguish by the way of vandalism. They destroy public properties to grab the attention of incumbent government. How can these politicians-right-now-as-ministers be hurt by burning DTC buses, PCR vans and damaging public establishments? These public properties don’t belong to any crook politician; rather belong to every honest countryman who pays taxes as a part of his/her hard-earned money. If any protester really wants to display his disrespect for government and has so much fire inside, destroy the actual evil-doers-cum-ministers or their personal properties. If you burn two DTC buses, you are the one who will face more rustle in the bus tomorrow while going to the office; as these ministers have got VVIP cars financed by your money.

Wish you a very happy new life there,Delhi’s Girl !

I never saw her, never talked to her, even don’t know her real name but don’t know why a profound sense of loss haunts my mind after her departure from this world. The way she was related to me was she was a Human being, an Indian, a Delhi inhabitant; and I think this much resemblance is enough for a person to feel the throbbing in his heart. Every sad song reminds me of her these days.

If she were alive, she would also celebrate New Year’s Eve with her family. A doctor marveled that even in the ICU, she wanted to change her clothes and do her hair. God! She was so full of life. If some real God exits, He must have put Her in a very special place in the heaven. I wish her a very happy new life there and also a happy new year, in case she looks down to the earth.

Improving law and order in the city is very important but the most important thing is changing the wolf-like mindset of men. Some policemen have also been found to be involved in carnal felonies in the past. Unless and until the inner voice will stop one to commit such kind of offenses, it is not so easy to put a complete halt on these crimes.

Words of love

These are few love quotes I like . Please share your favorites as comments to this post. 🙂

  • When you love someone, all your saved-up wishes start coming out.   – Elizabeth Bowen
  • When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.   –  William Shakespeare
  • Love is the most beautiful of dreams and the worst of nightmares. – William Shakespeare
  • Other men said they have seen angels, but I have seen thee and thou art enough.  –  G. Moore.
  • Some people are meant to fall in love with each other, but not meant to be together.

From the movie The Ten Commandments

Sephora: She was very beautiful, wasn’t she? This woman of Egypt who left her scar upon your heart. Whose skin was white as curd. Her eyes, green as the cedars of Lebanon. Her lips, tamarisk honey. Like the breast of a dove, her arms were soft. And the wine of desire was in her veins.

Moses: Yes. She was beautiful…  .. as a jewel.

Sephora: A jewel has brilliant fire… but gives no warmth. Our hands are not so soft but they can serve. Our bodies not so white, but they are strong. Our lips are not perfumed… but they speak the truth. Love is not an art to us. It’s life to us. We are not dressed in gold and fine linen. Strength and honour are our clothing. Our tents are not the columned halls of Egypt…but our children play happily before them. We can offer you little… but we offer all we have.

Moses: I have not little, Sephora. I have nothing.

Sephora: Nothing from some is more than gold from others.

Moses: You would fill the emptiness of my heart.

Sephora: I could never fill all of it, Moses. But I shall not be jealous of a memory.

Use and support open-source software

Few days back I got a call from a friend of mine that he is facing numerous problems with his laptop like disappearing of desktop icons, frequent interrupts in online activities etc. I asked him if he was using a pirated copy of Window operating system. His quick reply was, “I don’t know, I had paid Rs.500 to get everything installed on my system at Nehru Place.” Without waiting for my response he continued, “Hey do you have latest version of MS Office, mine is older one and doesn’t open even docx file?” Finally he allowed me to answer to his queries. “Why don’t you use Linux operating system, OpenOffice.org and other GPL software?” I offered him a panacea for his all problems. I helped him install Fedora (a Linux based OS) and other free open source software. Today he called me early in the morning to thank me for everything especially for in-built torrent client in the Linux for downloading movies.

I would like to request everyone to switch to open-source technologies. Once you use them you will forget cheeky Windows and other Microsoft-based software forever. If you can’t live without Windows then at least you can install Linux OS(Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, Mandrake or any other Linux based OS) in addition to existing Windows on your system. And please don’t go for MS office, asp, .Net and blah blah.., go for OpenOffice.org, Java, PHP, MySQL and other open source software and say with your proud head up- I don’t use pirated software because I use open-source software. People related to Computer Sc field like students, professionals and academicians may contribute their expertise to the open-source community that is open to the whole world. Source code of all open source software is available on the internet; you may edit, modify, play and create a new open-source clone. The whole world would be proud of you if you do something useful. Today ninety-nine percent of online banking sites use Java and Linux for their robustness and plethora of features. One of the busiest websites in the world, our own irctc-website, uses open-source software (Java based software). But I feel shame to visit the website of AICTE, the apex body of India for technical education, which is designed in asp.

Well, before I press the submit button to post this blog, I will recommend you to watch the movie –Antitrust (2001 movie based on open source and proprietary software). You may write to me if you need any kind of help regarding open source software. I will be more than happy to help you if I am able to do so. 🙂

Real life is boring!

Have you ever noticed the tagline of Wave Cinemas – ‘Real life is boring’? Really this line encapsulates lots of meanings inside it. There is so much pain and atrocities in this real world. When you watch a nice movie, may be it is totally imaginary, unrealistic, it transports you in another world- the world that is free of  troubles you face in your daily life. At least for a few hours, your mind will thank you for not putting any kind of pressure on it. I was watching some old movies today or rather I should say I was going through best parts of movies I have already seen like ‘A walk in the clouds’, ‘Girl with a pearl earring’, ‘City of Angels’ and I felt the same…. Remember the  closing line dialogued by Nicolas Cage in City of Angels – ‘I would rather have had….one breath of her hair…..one kiss of her mouth……one touch of her hand……than an eternity without it…..One.’  Ultra-romantic, no?

The case is also true with Day-dreaming. Just close your eyes and wish anything you can’t get in real world. Your wish will be definitely fulfilled.Yeah, it’s true that it all vanishes in a trice once you open your eyes. But who cares, you have enjoyed the ecstasy of a moment that will overcome the sting of the whole day. 🙂
